So I've seen that ZZP is going to be providing a much needed service for the high horsepower cars with their own 1 inch drive chain. Does anyone have any insight on this?

one part is easy. (gears or chain, unsure)
other is difficult.
its coming soon.
OMG yes. now all we need is a bolt on Intake Manifold.
i can buy the chains right now..... the gears not so much
I thought zzp said they could not find chains before, making the gears should not be too hard with a cnc mill.
I'm not sure about where they're getting the chain from, but I think I did hear something about them comming from caddie's. Overall I think that Kuntzie has the best setup here!
I have this set in my 94 Z24 with the 3.69 FDR. INTENSE-Racing.com: INTENSEâ„¢ Gear Ratio Conversion Kits
FYI
Gears touch other gears.
Sprockets use chain to turn other sprockets.
For the people that have posted in this thread or are viewing this thread and know of or know what the 1" chain solution is:
Why won't you share the information to all of us here on the board? It bothers me to see knowledge, valuable knowledge in my opinion, not be shared to those who could benefit from it.
I don't see how this is any different from someone learning about the C5/F-body brake upgrade available for our cars as an example. You have people who will want to buy a kit from a supporting vendor of the community and then you'll have people who will want to piece together parts on their own. When knowledge is shared it keeps this community/platform alive.
Keep in mind that on their website it says 1" chain SOLUTION, it does not say 1" chain. I have talked with Tim a few times about some ideas and a cheaper alternative which I believe is the angle they are taking. ZZP is large company with buying power and that is the only way something custom is going to happen in regards to a new chain setup, no big manufacturer is going to bat an eye for 20 units so there has to be some volume involved with something like this. I have had a few ideas since the 1" chain was discontinued almost 3 years ago and I shared my thoughts with Tim to look into. I will check into this and see what the plans are unless it is to be kept under lock and key until release time.
I swear Ive seen larger than 1" chains being used on a monte forum before and for the life of me cant fine it again. People need to start looking to other W body platform sites to see what everyone else is doing. Not everyone drives a GP that wants to go fast. Im about 99% sure that volvo makes a chain thats 1" or larger. I also 110% agree with intrigue98 that holding information is a bunch of BS and jack up the prices and availability of parts. Then in the same breath people whine the platforms dying!!!!
For starters who searches
Monte forums?
Regal forums?
Bonneville forums?
Impala forums?
Most everyone knows of 3800pro.com clubgp.com and a few other GP sites but unless you've owned a different W body Im willing to bet people havnt looked else where. Side note I had a thread some where on here with a list of sites that had classified sections from other forums people could go to looking for this exact type of thing, hard to find parts such as 1" chains MP112 conversion parts ect.
At the end of the day what the hell do I know right???????
good point, what about t-case gears and chains from a HD truck? just a thoought, they hold high torque and heavy trucks i would think we have some smart people around here, lets see if something might work
That could be a fvckin genius idea to try some Transfercase chains! A ton of Jeep and other foums would have plenty of these!!!! Even if they had to be broken and shortened or something how hard could that be? We all need to get together and find something that can replace the 1" chain for a reasonable cost! I'd be willing to bet far more cars over 500HP would magically apprear. The engine tech has been around for a long time just the damn transmissions being whats holding them back. Even cnc'ing some gears wouldnt be nearly as hard as finding a chain.
