So I've been having issues with my car making a weird rubbing/grinding noise when I accelerate. I figured it was the driver side axle so I replaced it. (It fixed my vibration problem I had and drives soo much better now.) But im still getting that noise! When I was installing the new one I realized the shaft inside the trans had some play in it up/down/ side to side/ in, out etc. Is this normal? Or could this be the source of my noise? If so, is it a serious, costly problem? Thanx for the help!!

the axle holds that shaft in place IIRC.

Totally normal. Keep on looking for the noise. Check the wheel bearings.

Just had everything checked out. They can't find anything that would cause it. I asked the mechanic, so, did you hear that noise? He said, im sorry what was that?....I don't hear very well. .................geeeeez, really? Im thinkin I need a second opinion! Lmao
