What year/engine is your car? How many miles on it? Have you had it scanned for trans. codes? Is your trans fluid full? How's the color? (does it look brown/black or nice and red?) When was the last time the fluid/filter were changed?

If you go somewhere to get it looked at, I'd recommend AAMCO.

I had my tranny rebuilt at an AAMCO a few years and 30k miles ago. It runs like brand new. (It should for $2,800!)

Not sure how this would affect your year but on my 06 if the MAF sensor is disconnected it will shift hard for some wierd reason.

Since you pulled apart the top end. Double check maf and TPS. Those are the two sensors that effect the trans the most. Or go have it scanned to see what codes it has stored. Trans codes typically don't turn on a light, but they do store in memory.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

maybe a shift solenoid as well pretty common problem but that would throw a code. do you have codes? yr and model? mileage? still need more info....
