i am using this trans coolier on my 1998 gtp.
    Hayden Automotive 678 - Hayden Fluid Coolers - Overview - SummitRacing.com

not sure if the problem was there when i first installed the trans cooler.
but now i have noticed my trans shifts high, 3 grand each gear when I am just cruising around town. is this normal?

could the trans coolier be causing this?
could the trans be to cold and torque lock up not working?
could drit or grit in trans from having 190,000 miles maybe clogging up trans cooler, increasing presser, and restricting flow?
could torque converter be going out?
could trans just be going out?

also if i floor it WOT it shifts at 5700, is this normal?

need some feeback dont want to rip off the cooler if thats not the problem.

alright it shifts a 5700 in normal and performance shift.
I thought performance shift increased shift rpm?

but any help on the high shift problem while daily driving?

Did you check your fluid a few times after you installed your cooler?
Also did you see what color the fluid is while you were installing the cooler?

i dont think performance shift changes shift points... just increases line pressure for quicker firmer shifts.

all right a little update, i did a tranny pan drop and filter change with dex 6, still does the same thing.

at 70 my rpms are at 2100 if that maters at all.

but i noticed when i hit the brake to stop the cruise control the car revs up a little, why would it do this now?

I don't know if this will have any relation to the condition you are expieriencing, but the computer will not lock the converter until the trans. temp is above 80 degree.
I found that out prowling around in the transmission parameters of my tuner program.

Now, if your trans temp is not high enuff, possibly the computer is delaying shifts to speed the warm up of the engine and transmission, (in theory).
