I'm curious how far the stock chain and input shaft will go.

I'm planning turbo sometime early next year and I don't want a catastrophic failure.

Thats fine, just hit me up when you are ready. I dont recommend ANY LSD because the failure rates from them and the transmission damage that can be caused by a failing lsd. My gearsets are like many others on the market and use a 7/8" HyVo single chain. Its hard to put a power rating on the trans with a better input shaft and chain is it really depends on engine mods overall, tires being used, how much the car is at the track with GOOD traction and hard launches, etc... there are just too many variables but it should be plenty to get you deep into the 11s or faster. I have not had any stock dual chains break but I always suggest going to a single chain when running mid 12s or faster, and a better input shaft around the 12.9 or faster mark with sticky tires.

How much do the single chain and improved input shaft upgrades cost?

I have my own single chain sets that I sell for $295. The input shafts are from vendors from a range of $350-$450+. I only install Intense shafts in my builds unless you already have one, in which case I dont warranty it or any related problems.

Why is that? Is there a problem with the ZZP or Dynotech input shafts? Or something you don't like about them?

Zoom was so confident in his shaft that he offered to give JonBob's Whippled car a free 300m shaft if he managed to break the 4340 shaft.

While we are talking about upgrades to a basic build, I was curious what you would say about Torque Converters, Any brand you recommend ?

I don't think it's that he doesn't trust them. More that they're not really his product and being so expensive he's not going to warranty them. From a business standpoint makes sense.

Thats one point I was getting at. I cant warranty an aftermarket shaft and the warranty will be held through the supplier of it. A good friend swayed me to Intense shafts last year and I like the finish quality better. Was it the strongest shaft out there? no. Intense probably has the best customer service, when I have questions or order issues they are in contact asap which is very important to me because I cant have downtime waiting. Also they just released a newly designed input shaft about a month ago that is made by the same company GM racing uses for the 1200 hp non-lockup race shaft and shares similarities with it though retains full function lockup. I have installed a number of these shafts and they too are a great quality piece. Again I am not saying that anyone elses shafts arent as good, I know ZZP puts the best warranty on their shaft and has the highest power handling ratings and the Dynotech shafts are also a good upgrade. I have a number of other reasons why I prefer what I use but this thread isnt the place to get into that.
