So I'm trying to get my grand prix back on the road, the tranmission is being a turd, and has been for probably the last 20-30k miles, it really doesnt like the 1-2, and the 2-3 is also crap, and sometimes even the 3-4 sucks. I'm not 100% that the transmission is the issue, but after having the engine replaced (had an oil leak grow bad fast) it's still slipping when shifting, especially on the 1-2, and I figured I might as well get it rebuilt. I was super close to just selling the grand prix to a scrap yard, but with the car market where it is, it's cheaper to try the prix, and I still love the car. It's in dire need of a dyno tune, but I can't do that if the trans is acting up, and I figured I'd try and do that first.

PS I'm looking at doing the upgraded input and output shafts, and maybe even one of those LSDs, any comments about those?

Strange that it's having issues at that low of mileage but I don't know the maint./abuse history of it. Why do you need a dyno tune? Is this car modded? Tuned?

Take a look at 4T65E Transmission Rebuilds - Triple Edge Performance for some good transmission options. Dave breaks it down pretty well based on your power levels.

i got mine rebuild at about 108K got the HPS1 from dave/TEP and i happy with it shifts nice and firm and quicker then my other one ever did most times ****s are 100-125 ms and i have it set to 200ms
also got the 3.29 instead of 3.05 that came stock in my 07
i was thinking about the lsd but didnt go with one as any of the good ones will add at least $1000 and they are hard to find.
but i think a guy on here has been talking about starting to produce them again soon.
