So i am trading my truck for a beautiful GXP in blue green crystal and the guy says the only problem with it is that the transmission leaks on the top somewhere when its running and driving, anyone know what it could be?

Sounds like a blown channel plate gasket. I know this happened on the V6 GP's, not sure how prevalent it is on the GXP.

What do you mean by the vent cover being gone? Would a cracked case cause this/ its driveable but you gotta keep adding fluid. when he first said that i thought a cooler line first. is there any common leak spot on these?

The only common leaks would be lines, broken weld on dipstick tube or pan gasket. Sounds like you are finding something different. Take a look and see where it's leaking. If it's tough to see, clean it down and then check it.

Not sure how the vent cover missing would leak fluid as the only reason it should have fluid that high would be if it was overfilled.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Pretty sure its a bad torque converter seal. would that cause it to leak while the car is running/
