05 Grand Prix GXP Drive/driven solution verificationb request.

Ok, so I have been enjoying my 2005 Grand Prix GXP for several months now, but I am wanting to make a few changes. I have decided to start with drive ratio. I have been doing some searching, and believe I have the correct idea going, but wanted to verify my research.
Especially since most of what I read referenced the 2006+ transaxle.
If I understand this correctly my LS4 is hooked up to a 4t65e-hd transaxle. From what I have read thus far my final drive ratio is 293/1. This is achieved with a 37 drive/33 driven gear and chain set, as well as a 3.29/1 final drive. I am not sure if this transmission has the dual 3/8" drive chain set or not.
It is also my understanding that both a 33 drive 37 driven gear and chain set, as well as a 35 drive and 35 driven sets are available, and can be had in stronger single 7/8" set. These would result in a 2.29/1 or a 3.69/1 final drive. respectively.
If that info is correct, I should be able to find a local shop that can get the parts and do the swap for me....
Any input is appreciated! Thank you in advance!!!

I would stick with the dual chains, 7/8 stretches. IMO the dual chains which were updated for the v8 are likely your best choice. As for the ratio 37/33 with 3.29 ends up as 2.93 overall. If you swap to the 35/35 with the 3.29 diff, you have 3.29 overall ratio.
When you make a gear ratio change, remember to update the pcm for that change at the same time. If not, the pcm will likely see the difference and put line pressure to max and that will be no fun
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Thank you for your response, I will take that as confirmation . I especially appreciate the reminder about updating the PCM!
As to the chain type and size, I think I have found an even better option. I have found a site that has a kit with 15/16 chain and sprocket.... I just found it last night!

DO NOT DO A 15/16TH CHAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The 7/8 is the same width as the 15/16 chain except measured a smidge differently. IIRC and I might be wrong, the 7/8 will roll back on itself and the 15/16 won't.
7/8 stretches pretty easily if you drive it like I do
15/16 snaps .. never owned one but I did fix a trans after it snapped
Dual V8 chains.. far as I know it's the next best thing to the 1" GMR chainset.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
