Tru cool max on ebay for $118 on ebay. Also would instal a transgo shift kit too with filter and new fluid too.

Ok another question between researching up trans coolers what is better the inline or bypass coolers
Run the cooler as a stand alone outside of the stock GM in radiator cooling. I have been running trans coolers as stand alones for 35 years and have never had a tranny failure. My 01 GP uses (2) long/dana coolers (18,000 GVW each), total cooling 36,000 GVW, for 120,000 miles now with zero issues. DD GP 365 days a year in very hot and very cold weather.Tranny still perfect at 205,000 miles.....

Bypass the radiator.

Does not have bypass, but on ebay for another $37. I'm getting the bypass kit as well.

Going to order the Tru Cool 4590 off amazon tomorrow and to bypass the rad is there a bypass kit I need to buy or tell the shop I'm taking it to tell them I want it to bypass the rad ??
A shop should be able to figure it out. Or call them and ask. Or diy and save the money.. Its a easy thing to do.. I know because I did mine with no issues. If it can be messed up then ill mess it up every time.. Granted I have gtp not gxp but thats tit for tat lol

Summer temps during hot weather are 135-140 tops and 125 degrees in the winter....coolers have been on the tranny for 130,000 miles and counting..........car driven all year round and in very cold weather.
No LS4 is running 125-140* on the transmission. Mine was usually in the realm of 160-180*...even beating on it. That was with a new built TEP trans and a Tru-Cool 4590 bypassing the radiator and a finned trans pan. LS4 heat is worlds more than any 3100/3800 puts out.
And your point is about the LS4?????
The LS4 I assume uses a beefed up 4T65E-HD (if there is such a thing). I currently have 3 cars with Long Dana Coolers of different cooling effectiveness. On my Mustang GT 5.0 V8 (325 NET HP/360 Ft-lbs TQ with the ford auto tranny, I had to go to 42,000 GVW cooling capacity and that tranny also runs in the 135-145 temp. The AODE tranny ran very high temps when cooled by the radiator only before the external coolers doing all the cooling. You need to size the coolers to meet the heat reduction requirement. All my cars with tranny coolers run in the 125-145 range easily, even under severe load. Put (2) 28,000 GVW coolers in the nose of the LS4 and I guarantee that the tranny temps will be in the 125-140 range. How do I know? From doing it on the mustang tranny...

Go buy an LS4 car and find out...factory temps soar north of 220* on average.
And no, there isn't anything much different in it than a Comp G TAPShift transmission. That's why they always fail; from excessive heat breakdown. The 4590 is rated at 28k by itself. It doesn't need two coolers.
My LS4 stays that cold in the cold of winter(110 to 120 degrees 45 minute commute), Hayden 679 trans cooler inline with the factory cooler. Average summer temp is around 180, before the cooler was added it would reach 220 easy. I don't drive it in the winter anymore, but those temps were too cool in my opinion .
