can I ask some question of the veteran 3800 guys. Prolly best to post these in the transmisson category but not sure. Here it goes though...i was driving my 01 gp gtp yesterday to work...doing only 70mph when i got on it just alil to go around a slower car it front of me..(was using crusie control before this) well the slower car decided the guy in front of hom was the one holding us up and also wemt around the car in front of him so i left off as not to rearend the guy...i felt a tiny lil jerk or pop...hard to explain it..mostley in pedal though and went i went to gove it accel there was nothing. ..only high rev. Coasted to a stop and thats where it sat. I could feel it shifting into the gears including reverse but it wont go anywhere..it acts like its about to then doesnt (tiny movement when throttle applied, could just be engine making it rock). Transmisson was built for 600 hp...car sits at 400hp right now...

If it doesn't even move in 1st gear, something big broke inside.

What specifically was done? Sounds like a broken input shaft or chain. Could be a broken flexplate, but I imagine that would make an awful racket that would be clearly audible.

Not sure..previous owner has biuld documentation but is out of state. No noise comes from trans..i can put the car in gear and it starts to engage but then doesnt..rolls fine in gear also

Yeah. I assume there's still fluid in it? Like, you didn't blow a cooler line and pump the thing dry? That's about the only "easy" fix with what you're describing.
