2004 GTP Comp G trans swap question

Hello all, my wife has a 2004 GTP comp g which was in a terrible accident the other day. The car is beyond mangled however the engine and trans still operate as they should. I have a very clean 2004 GTP which needs a transmission. Will the Comp G Trans swap directly in to the non comp g gtp?
I have hp tuners and the ability to do any work needed. Experience and tools are not in question however I do not know it will be a direct swap because of the additional valve body in the Comp G trans. I'm not concerned with the paddle shifters ever working again or any gear ratio tuning that may be required. Just curious if it will all bolt up and plug directly in with no harness changes and operate as it should.
Thank you all in advance.

comp g tranny is for a comp g only. you need all the wire harnesses and what not, not worth the swap. sell the comp g tranny, its rare and worth a few bucks more then a normal hd tranny.

You can swap it but its not as easy as finding another gtp trans.. Like scotty said its not worth it. I on the other hand is swapping my comp g internals into a rebuilt impala trans lol. lets just say its been an adventure.

OK thank you for the response. I'm not disagreeing with either of you but could you explain more...like are the plugs for the harnesses different between the two cars or the way the pcm controls the trans different? I'm just confused as to why the regular functions of the trans won't work excluding the paddle shifters and manual valve body?
Thank you again just trying to understand

I break things.

The trans has an entire other controller/module for the tap-shift, which is built in to both the BCM and PCM.
It would require the entire engine/trans and interior harness to be swapped over. It's a large amount of work and in the end would be more of a hassle than both cars put together are worth.

I have a crazy follow-up question, if you don't mind. Will a regular HD trans bolt into a Comp-G? I would imagine that you wouldn't have the paddle shifters, but to be honest, I don't really see what the hub-bub about them is anyways? I ask because it would seem that I'm going to need to rebuild my trans, was going to rebuild a trans and swap it in, but don't necessarily want to have to search Earth for the same trans.

The comp G trans connector pinout needs to be reworked but yes you can do it all it requires is reflashing the PCM to a GTP or GT bin file.
I'm tossing a 97 engine and trans into my 04 comp G.
Because I need a drive by wire harness for the twin-engine olds I might also go ahead and swap in the 97 PCM and harness/throttle cable. ... for the heritage

I'd pay the one hour labor time at the dealer to have them do some b******* repair just to see the looks on their faces when they open the hood of an 04 compg... and find everything from a 97 in it

Hello have a question, possibly for Turbocharged400sbc or anyone that can answer this
if i was to swap Engine/Tranny from 07 GT Supercharged to my 04 Comp-G,what are the easiest steps to do this?someone told me only thing i'd have to do is get my 04 Comp-G PCM Tuned to the 07 GT Requirements & for the Pinouts can i just get the Wiring Harness that runs from PCM to Fuse Box from the 07 GTP & get it Flashed or Tuned?
