Can you put a 99 gt trans in a 00 gtp til the other one gets rebuilt

GT has a different gear ratio and a weaker differential. At the very least you'd need to have your PCM programming adjusted for the different gear ratio.
The short answer is NO for reasons mentioned above, but yes it is possible to do this and here are the differences... To install the GT trans you will have to have the pcm tuned for the correct gear ratio. Also the passanger side axle from your gtp wont fit because it is slightly larger. You could always swap the diff from the gtp trans to the gt trans but you are still left with the wrong gear ratio as the differential is not the only determining factor to the overall gear ratio in these transmissions. The torque converter is smaller on the GT trans and has a smaller bolt pattern on the flexplate but you could use your gtp converter if it is still in good shape. Electrically it will work just fine, and your other obstacle is cooler lines and also being the topic of this thead they are different. 97-99 used a thread in fitting while 00+ used a quick connect fitting and accomodating cooler line. SOME 99 cases will accept the 00+ fitting but they are hit and mis and there is no way to know outside of removing lines for a quick inspecition. You can also use the correct lines from the other trans and swap the existing ones on the car and this is the common simple swap option that a lot of guys do.
Thanks A Lot But I Couldnt Just Drive It For A Week Or Two Till The Original Is Rebuilt Cause The Motor Is All Stock
