no special tools needed to remove the air bag.

on the back of the wheel, there are 4 holes, you stick a screw driver inside the hole, twist it, you will feel the bag pop up, hold it up, and hit the hole under it once one side its popped do the same with the other side. theres a spring lever inside, you turn it and you will feel the clip let loose.

i think i used a right angle pick last time i took mine off, a long flat head driver bit in vise grips works, done that, and then right angle screw driver, like to open a paint can works good as well.

heres a vid of how it works, there is no need to take any of the plastic covers off, you stick the tool through the holes in the plastic on the back of the wheel, im only posting this vid because he shows the guts, and how it works.

i know this is a regal, GP is the same thing.

Ok. So got the bag off. Thanks for reply Scott. Had it off before checking again LoL. Now then. Wheel puller. It's not working. There's no where to screw into to take it off.

Yeah I bought a wheel puller. It's not cutting it. It uses bolts to screw into wheel. But there's no we're to do it.

i did the same thing, but i popped my air bag off in the parking lot and realized it wouldn't work, returned it and got a 3 piece set of 3 different size 2 gear pullers, 3 inch and up. i think the whole set cost 15 bucks at harbor freight, used the small one and the large quite a few times, used the large one 3 times this weekend alone lol

Ran into a buddy at the yard (Alex) he showed me the trick to get the wheel off. I'm now in possession of a clock spring.

So sounds like its REAL easy to reset this clock spring if i didnt get it perfect pulling it.

THe wires running thru the hole are ones i used to tie it up tight to not move around.

if you know the wheels were straight on the donor car, your good to go, just pop it on.

    Update from long lost thread!

its a good thing i re read this, because i had no idea the wheels were straight on donor car anymore LOL

upon reading this thread more Grand Prixs Of North America • View topic - Adding a steering wheel with radio controls.
i realized i needed the column harness, so i went to JY to snag that, no problem.

Now im just working out how i wanna paint the wheel control trim.. the ones i have are "chrome" and not looking the best, buttons are great tho surprizingly. so im torn between silver like my grilles, or body colour.. nice weather just came back so i can start the paint process today/tomorrow hopefully have them installed later in week maybe.

took forever, but i was able to get all that busted up chrome off the plastic..
then sanded and primed.. ran outta primer need to get more and finish em up.

thinking silver with 6 million coats of clear for ultra high gloss
