^ agreed I spent way more then that when I did mines months back.

my only problem is i couldn't crack my stock ones, so i don't want to buy another set and ruin those. i don't know if i just did it wrong, or what, but i don't feel like ruining a set and still having sucky headlights...
Oem headlights are a ***** to crack takes time and lots of heat its do-able. Replacement headlights from third parties are way easier to crack open takes almost little effort.
can you elaborate on "almost little". haha
Heat them in the oven for 15-20mins at 220 or so or use a heat gun and go around the edges using a old flare head start to dry open.
Ill leave this here since Dave did a excellent write up I won't go into details on how to do it since its there and I've done mines a bit differently but his is a easier process.

I've seen that one, and that's the method I used to attempt to crack my stockers. Thanks tho
Yea that won't work for your stockers lol. Took me about 4 hours of fighting to get my oem ones opened I highly suggest just getting some replacement they're way easier to work with and ill take you some time to get them right so no downtime.
Gotcha, well thanks for the info regardless. Maybe I will try a retrofit in the near future.
well, i just bought new stock replacements...
Recently bought the spyder headlights with the xenon 4300 HID kit, what makes them bad, just the projector housing? for the price i got them If i just have to replace the projector housing it would be worth it. I love the overall looks of the lights just like you said the pattern and brightness of the projector its abysmal.
Post# 1 shows the difference of a proper projector output vs these. and states "These headlights have extremely poor output, the LEDs burn out, the halos are dim and are of poor quality. DO NOT BUY."
Ya noticed that, new to the headlight game, but it would appear (aside from the blinker LEDs) if i replaced the projector housing in the headlight i'd have some pretty *****in' headlights. And with some morimotos for around 100 a pair, id have a bad ass setup for around 400-500.
That would be your best choice is to throw some Morimoto H1s into them. Personally I hate the eBay projector looks I much prefer a oem headlight with a retrofit installed but that's all depending on your preference.
^^^ This. I too prefer the OEM Retrofit on the 04-08 models to any of the aftermarket options.
IMO This...
SUCKS compared to this
There are also little touches that can be done to make them look more unique. A couple people have done DUAL Projectors. Dave added an LED Bar to this setup.
There was a trial down the bottom of the headlights, but it was changed to ^^^ later
There are so many options to do with the factory capsules, its almost a waste to purchase the cheaper quality aftermarkets and then start cutting into them to try and get a better headlight.

The way i see it:
1. i like the look.
2. I already purchased before finding this forum, lol.
So i think im gonna buy the morimoto H1 bi-xenon and retrofit a dual projector setup.
Hey I have a post here: http://www.grandprixforums.net/wtb-r...hts-82376.html and I am looking for someone to retro-fit headlights for me. I saw a few people said they are doing these for people, is anyone still doing them?
just them yourself its not hard and will save a lot
