Yes it is, the owners manual for my car describes the process but mine won't work for some reason - 2008 gxp
It must be 04 and up then. Mine would not I have a 2001 tho.
Does the Radio in your dash have a mp3 sicker or insignia painted on the front of it if not it's probably not an mp3 player. Just because it's in your manual doesn't mean you have one.
The MP3 radio is an option/upgrade which is usually not standard on all vehicles.
Look guys, I KNOW that my deck plays MP3's I just want to know what I am doing wrong. 2008 GP GXP came standard equipment with MP3 capability, the badging for this came off of the front of the head unit in 2007 because IMO it looked hideous.
Well that explains it. You took the MP3 badging off the head unit. It doesn't play MP3's cause it doesn't say it can. Put the badging back on the head unit and it will probably play. Hahahaha, sounds like something John Madden would say ah guys. No seriously dude. Try reburning that CD it could have gotten corrupt somehow. I have an 07 and I've burnt some music that I downloaded off of Imesh, it plays fine.
My monsoon system does the smae thing, track 1 forever. Its funny how the monsoon should be the best system offered but the midgrade stereo is the only one that plays mp3.
I think is a cd issuse..i had a 07 rental that would play one burned cd, but it would play tha other..they where tha same brand..it just would play tha other...it was a base gp. It could be a certain brand of cd that it will only play. i had a 04 stratus that would only play a certain type in tha factory head unit. the ones i used are maxell cr-r 80 min./700ms..
It will play burned cd's that are music cd's just fine. I am having trouble with the cd's that are MP3 files. Supposedly (According to pontiac) you can burn a MP3 cd with like 150 songs and broke down into playlists and the head unit will play it like an IPOD or something.
