My headlight housings are super fogged and one is also cracked. They are too far gone to be restored, so I'm looking for replacement housings. Has anybody tried the housings available on ebay/amazon and can tell me how they compare to OE housings? Just want to make sure I get a product that will work well enough to be worth spending the money. I really like the retrofitted housings, but I can't justify spending $400 on them and so I need cheaper alternatives.

Or to answer his question, new stock housing from a decent vendor work just fine if you just need new headlights.

I've run like 4 different sets of new stock housings from the brand TYC without issue. After like 4-5 years they start the yellow again but by then the car is likely not be yours anymore.

Thank you, fivefingerdeathpunch. Just the input I needed. Maybe you or someone else would know this too: is it worth it to put some LEDs in the fog lights on the 04+ cars for increased output at night?

    That I don't know.

Depending on how the light is distributed across the ground it might just scatter even worse and cause the light to shine into other peoples eyes as they drive towards you.

In lights that have a cut off for the lenses that help point it downward and stop the scatter effect it would surely help a lot.

I bought Ebay headlights 2 years ago for my 04. Still look brand new. No fogging. I recommend. As for the fog lights there is no light distribution pattern. It would just be annoying glare to every oncoming driver. Please don't do it. There is no cut-off or good beam pattern. It is mostly for looks not for good lighting. You would be much better off to buy a set of Ebay headlights and retrofit LED or HID projectors into the housing if you want better lighting. You would get better light pattern without blinding everyone else on the road. (You know... people who throw LEDs or HID bulbs in a halogen housing with huge glare blinding every oncoming driver.)

Yeah, I know not to put HIDs in stock housings. The fog lights aim low have a pretty sharp cutoff though, so that's why I was wondering if they would take LEDs without blinding everyone else.

Anyone have some experience with how much they spent to retrofit their own low beams?
